The county of Devon has much to offer, from the secluded coves of South Devon to the rolling hills of the Dartmoor National Park, it is not surprising why this county is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK.
The Palace Hotel is lucky enough to be situated in the English Riviera. Stretching along 22 miles of stunning South Devon coastline, The English Riviera covers the three Torbay coastal towns of Paignton, Brixham and Torquay and has been a popular holiday spot for centuries.
Dartmoor National Park
A popular Devon tourist attraction is Dartmoor National Park, situated approximately 30 minutes drive from Torbay. It’s an area of outstanding natural beauty, characterised by bleak and beautiful moorland, rugged windswept tors and expanses of wilderness that are uncommon in the South of England. However, there are many old villages and towns to visit amongst our beautiful Devon countryside - why not try a Devon cream tea in one of the many tea rooms or a refreshing pint of real ale in a country pub just brimming with local charm.
Cockington Country Park is an attractive and peaceful oasis in the heart of Torquay, South Devon. Accessible from the seafront and from Scadson Woods, it is criss-crossed with a 6-mile long network of footpaths and bridle paths, and commands superb views of Torbay. With its Visitor Centre, craft workshops and children's play area there is plenty to do for all ages.
